Pay
Your pay in the Canadian Forces is based on your occupation,
rank and years in the rank. For current pay rates click Pay
Scale.
Your pay will automatically be deposited into your bank account,
on the 15th and last day of each month. The usual
deductions will be made for income taxes, Canada Pension Plan,
Employment Insurance and the Forces' Pension.
Pension
We have a very good pension plan. Every member of the Regular
Force participates in this plan and is eligible to receive
a pension after completing 20 years of service. If you should
leave our team before your pension matures, you will be entitled
to receive all the money you have contributed. For more info,

Annual Vacation
You may request your vacation at any time, however training
and operational requirements come first. You will never loose
your days. A member can accumulate up to 25 days throughout
his/her employment period. You will be entitled to the following:

Fitness
The Army offers you free gym access to all base gymnasiums,
weight rooms, swimming pools and saunas, and training programmes
designed by qualified instructors.

Medical and Dental
Your medical and dental care will be free of charge (except
orthodontic appliances such as braces). We have insurance
plans to which you may subscribe for your family. It will
cover hospitalisation (other than ward), prescription drugs,
eyeglasses and dental care to name a few. For more info, please

Care
Allowances
All military personnel are entitled to special allowances
for special or hazardous duties. Here are a few examples:
- Field Operations Allowance (+/- 15.50$/Day);
- Specialist Allowance (+/- 200.00$/Month); and
- Paratroops Allowance (+/- 195.00$/Month)
Your Family
The Canadian Forces recognizes the contributions and sacrifices
made by families and the difficulties that our members face
in balancing commitment to country with family life. Furthermore,
dramatic changes in the structure, composition and function
of families are acknowledged. The Canadian Forces are committed

Recreational Facilities
You will also have free use of all base libraries and resources
(including internet). You may have access to all base hire
pools, which provide tools, equipment and recreational kit
for a nominal hire fee. Some bases have car shop, wood working
shop, cinema, arena and many more activities.
